Annie-Nominated writer, Kacey Arnold, is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where she wrote, produced, and directed a feature called “Your Room or Mine?”  Kacey then spent many years learning the ropes as an intern at Late night with Conan O’Brien, a script PA at SNL, and an assistant to some of Hollywood’s finest agents, producers, directors, executives, writers, and Showrunners while honing her standup (and her coffee making skills), soaking up how the biz really worked, before she finally became a full-time writer/producer herself.

Kacey believes humor makes everything more palatable. “Pain for pain’s sake, no thank you!” She uses the stage and the page as a place to speak the truths about life and the lessons to be found by laughing at it all.

This attitude has served her well.  To date, her top three career highlights are losing an Annie Award to Matt Stone and Trey Parker (thereby learning it really is an honor just to be nominated), getting a self-deprecating Barbie to do a spit take in one of her Barbie movies (before Greta took her so much further), and becoming a Lego Mini Figure(!!) while serving as Co-Producer/Head Writer of LEGO Friends: Girls on a Mission.

Kacey’s most personal project was producing and directing the documentary A Guy Called Dad about her father’s mental health struggles and her journey of understanding. Kacey is proud the film has been used as a teaching tool by the National Alliance of Mental Illness and enjoys receiving emails to this day from families who can identify with the struggles of loving someone with mental health issues.

Kacey’s humor and real-life experiences add unexpected depth and wit to entertainment of all ages. After years of writing and developing content for companies like Lego, Mattel, Titmouse, Peacock, Nickelodeon, The Jim Henson Company, MGA, Spinmaster, The Sesame Workshop, and Pinkfong USA, Kacey has been focusing on developing her own content for stage, page, and screen including optioning an NY Times best-seller and writing her first book, …That’s Why I’m Single.

In addition to her other film & TV writing, Kacey has performed nationally as a comedian, hosted a variety of live shows, and was the face of a national Big Lots campaign.  Kacey also has a podcast with fellow writer/comedian, David Conolly called Surviving the Dream that uncovers the secrets to surviving your dream job. (Which she knows a lot about.)

Kacey very much enjoys the irony of her writing making her a role model to girls (and some boys) the world over. “You’re welcome, future America!
